Mount Eerie and the Hive Dwellers play a benefit! →
Calvin Johnson-led project The Hive Dwellers and K friend and alum Mount Eerie and will play a special benefit for Northern: The Olympia All-Ages Project on December 19th. They’ll be joined by Vancouverites My Friend Wallis. If you live in or around Olympia, this will be a show worth braving the cold winter wind for!

Roll Out, Cowboy featuring K friend, Chris “The Rappin’ Cowboy” Sand, Moustaches, music by Shawn Parke and Mirah. The film has won numerous Best Documentary awards (y’know those olive branch laurels on posters) and will be screening at The Olympia Film Festival this Sunday at 1 pm. Coming home.

Wild Flag debut in Olympia →
This happened at Northern, the All-Ages space in our lil ol’ Olympia town last night and was kind of a big deal. A number of K folk either worked at or went to this show. New K band Western Hymn rocked pretty hard, as did opener Royal Baths… but Wild Flag (ex-Sleater-Kinney, Helium, The Minders, etc.) kind of blew shit up in epic and ramshackle fashion.
