You can read “The Casino,” a short book written by Arrington de Dionyso in 1997, in full here. Some background from the author himself…

“In 1997 in the throes of an extremely difficult break up and divorce, I started writing a short book called THE CASINO. It’s a wild and rambling read that was written incredibly quickly, as if taking dictation from a source outside myself. At the time I photocopied 20 or so copies to give to friends. Some of the motifs in certain passages later became the inspiration for songs performed by Old Time Relijun (such as The Casino, of course!). In the middle of writing this extremely sad and surreal break up story, I also spent two weeks in Bolivia volunteering for a Doctors Without Borders medical mission! I’ve always hoped to return to this book somehow and create a “final edit” but still never have. I’m just now finally posting this so that anyone interested can just have a read for themselves.”

Arrington is also on tour in a major way right now: he starts in Olympia next week and continues traveling until November, taking on most of the country. See his dates here.
