This video from City Center is so magical!
Tell me: has there ever been a dreamier band than SLGTM??
I thought not. If you’re spending your time in the east/midwest, you can catch them on tour right now! Find all their dates (under the City Center heading (another one of Fred’s numerous bands)) on our SHOWS PAGE!
Fred Thomas (Saturday Looks Good to Me, City Center) is in the Dub Narcotic Studio this week, helping put some finishing touches on a mysterious project with Calvin Johnson. Who knows what magic they are brewing down there? Who are all these talented musicans coming in and out of the studio? Who and what are these Hive Dwellers? We’ll find out sometime in 2012.
Speaking of City Center, the band (Thomas and collaborator Ryan Howard) put out the soundtrack to the summer, Redeemer (KLP231), this past May. Here’s “Modern Love,” one feisty rock jam.
Center Center was featured on Tape.TV today! They’re out of Germany, so we’re feeling very fancy and international. Check it out: http://blog.tape.tv/2011/03/24/entdeckt-city-center-cookies/
Also, the quote of the day, courtesy of Sharlese Metcalf from KEXP = “New City Center is unbelievable. Is it really music or a magical unicorn dream?”
It’s a magical unicorn dream.
In anticipation of May’s release of Redeemer, the first full-length on K by City Center, here is some “Modern Love.” If you’re interested in more, check out the song “Cookies” that we posted a couple of months back.
City Center is Fred Thomas (Saturday Looks Good to Me) and Ryan Howard; they’ve previously released “Zen Kids,” a Dub Narcotic Disco Plate,
“Cookies” by City Center, off of the upcoming record Redeemer coming out next spring on K.
