The CMers are going to be playing in Seattle at Folklife this Friday.  Here’s hoping they play this sweet jam, this jellyroll of a tune.  It’s nutty, but we love it.  Plus, it’s named after my favorite kind of sandwich!

I got to interview Rose Melberg a couple of days ago—you know, the sweet-voiced songstress behind Tiger Trapthe Softies, and her own solo material [Homemade Ship (KLP211)].  I couldn’t be more stoked to the Softies reunion that’s going to be happening at this year’s Folklife Festival, too.  Find the interview on our weblog!

The only thing that could make an Angelo Spencer et les Hauts Sommets show better is a homemade World Garage piñata!  Luckily, at What the Heck Fest #10, they delivered with a piñata full of cone-heads, treats, and giant plastic ears!

On May 25th, Ange is playing on the K Stage at the Northwest Folklife Festival!  You don’t wait to miss it!

The Northwest Folklife Festival is coordinating a series of short films called Northwest Stories about the many different cultural communities in the Northwest that are interwoven into the annual Northwest Folklife Festival (held every Memorial Day weekend at the Seattle Center). This episode, entitled Northwest Music & Arts, explores the underground music scene in Olympia and Seattle and it’s propensity to organize events accessible to audience members of all ages. Sweetness. Featured are Tender Foreverthe Hive Dwellers and Mariella Luz of the Olympia All Ages Project (she is also General Manager of K). This segment was produced by Doug Plummer.
