Here’s Phil Elverum of P.W. Elverum & Sun stepping out of his auto in Olympia while making the rounds of prime posting locations. Ms. Mariella Luz greets him with her usual aplomb:

Mr. Elverum carefully places a poster for the Anacortes Unknown Music Series on the door of the Dub Narcotic Studio:

The Anacortes Unknown Music Series starts tomorrow, July 18. It features mass K artists including the Hive Dwellers, Arrington de Dionyso’s Malaikat dan Singa, Karl Blau, LAKE, Lovers without Borders, Mecca Normal and D+:

See you there!

P.W. Elverum Posting for the Unknown! was originally published on K

Today’s special guest: Phil Elvrum (The Microphones, Mt. Eerie)!

Phil came by the K Warehouse today to chat, check things out and model the new K Records bandanas! A back pocket has never looked so good. And I’m totally digging those cornflower blue socks.

(Hayes Waring from Perennial Records and the band Sonskull is slying sipping yerba mate in the background.)

Pret-ty adorable. Don’t ya think?

Phil Elverum (The Microphones, Mount Eerie, D+) created this brand new tee, with artwork made by J. Pogue for Don’t Wake Me Up in 1999, exclusively for K! Check it out!

More to come…?

Mount Eerie is touring! Phil will be taking his gorgeous Pacific Northwest doom and gloom all across the country (and into Canada) this fall. Tour dates can be found on the K shows page and at P.W. Elverum & Sun. It will be amazing.

ITS TODAY!!!

Motorbikes, the project of singer/songwriter Paul Benson, is trying to get enough money to master and press his new record, Notion Free, on vinyl.  Paul is playing with LAKE and Mount Eerie these days, and it’d be awesome  if you could support his project!  Check it out over at his Kickstarter.

I can’t speak for everyone around here (since everyone else is on tour!), but a bunch of us at K like Jarvis Cocker.  So can you imagine how exciting it was for us to get an email from Lois telling us that he played Mount Eerie and our pals, Earth, on his weekly radio show last Sunday?  SO EXCITING!  You can listen to it here while it’s up for the next couple of days, and if you’re lucky enough to be in Europe, you have the opportunity to see both bands before they wrap up their European tour together with Ô Paon on the 6th!

Anglepoise Cymbals! Selector Dub Narcotic’s (aka Calvin Johnson) remix of the new Mount Eerie track (<—a link to buy the 7”, hint hint).  Man, I love me some good melodica playin’—it sure brings in the birds, if ya know what I’m sayin’.

Played 164 times.

This is incredible. Phil Elverum (of The Microphones and Mount Eerie) is doing karaoke to a Li’l Wayne song.  He busts some killer moves, and his rapping skills are impressive to say the least.  This was presumably shot by Arrington de Dionyso.

Mount Eerie’s new Dub Narcotic Disco Plate, Distorted Cymbals, will be released on February 7th.

The Glow Pt. 2 reissue vinyl (KLP190) is back in stock!

These won’t last long, so go get ‘em while you can!
