Here is a classic photograph that I found in the art files that I’ve been meaning to post for a long time now, Roger Ebert & Calvin Johnson at the 1983 Telluride Film Festival in Telluride, Colorado.  Photograph taken by Bret Lunsford (or maybe Lois Maffeo).

The wonderful Emily Beanblossom (Ruby Fray!) sent us some new photos from her new home in Austin!  Her new album, Pith, is available from the K Mail Order Department right this very second!  Woohoo!

All you Seattle people—I hope you listened when we told you that the Atlas Sound show was going down.  This picture is proof that it awesome: Calvin Johnson and Bradford Cox hanging out backstage, stirring up mischief with eerie, glowing eyes.  These two collaborated on making the Atlas Shrugged [DBN113] single a few years back; a meeting of the minds, to be sure.

Generifus has just announced a spring tour!  He’s going to be taking the Greyhound bus all over the midwest.  Photo above is by Amanda Jasnowski, and it was taken last summer here in Olympia.  Here are the dates:

Jeremy Jay and his band have been practicing down in Dub Narcotic Studio all this week, from early in the morning until late at night.  They’ve got an amazing work ethic.  It’s been great listening to them for the past few days, but now they’re heading out to tour the United States.  Tonight they’re playing in Portland, OR, and then tomorrow they’ll be back here in Olympia to play at Midnight Sun.  If they’re coming to your city, check them out!

AH!  Ruby Fray vinyl in the mail today!  And with it comes the snow!

This is Emily Beanblossom. She plays in the band Christmas, but is coming out with a new LP on K this spring under the name Ruby Fray.  The new record is called Pith, was recorded at Dub Narcotic Studio, and sounds fantastic.

This is a photo from our Christmas party that we had a few weeks ago.  Chain & The Gang was in the studio at the time, and we all had a ton of fun.  Notice that everyone  is wearing seasonally appropriate K mittens and scarves!
