I CANNOT stop playing ‘Tanger, Tanger’ after hearing Angelo Spencer play it live Thursday night. Uh, his band was AMAZING. For real. It was an awkward dance space and STILL people were dancing. Click & enjoy, from me to you.
PS My job is the coolest.
(Ang with K artists Ben Kapp (drummer) & Kendl Winter (singer/songwriter) at ‘Community Print’ studio—-letter pressin’ album covers!)

The Olympia house that Ben Kapp lived in went up in flames early this past Monday morning. Ben and his housemates (Kevin, Jonah, Justin, and Richie) escaped without harm, but the house and everything in it was totally destroyed. These guys are now houseless with the clothes on their backs and nothing else (and they’d be even further up shit creek if not for the American Red Cross). But they lost EVERYTHING - and could use as much help as possible to get their lives back to normal.
Ben plays drums, guitar, and whatever else is nearby in Angelo Spencer et les Hauts Sommets, Arrington de Dionyso’s Malaikat dan Singa, Kimya Dawson, Desolation Wilderness, Outdoor Voices, and many other bands that we’re forgetting. He is an important and much-loved part of Olympia music.

If you’d like to donate clothing for adult males, household items, mixtapes, keepsakes, or anything else, they can be dropped off at 802 Jefferson St. SE between 11am-5pm M-Th. All donations will be passed along to Ben ASAP. Further questions can be directed to the K Mail Order Dept. Special thank you to Angelo Spencer for this idea.

Arrington put this show together to pay tribute to and celebrate the birthday of Captain Beefheart, who passed away a month prior.
“Cahaya Bahaya” means “dangerous light” in Indonesian.
“Hot Head” a cover of the Captain Beefheart song by Arrington de Dionyso’s Malaikat.
This was just recorded on Monday by Calvin Johnson, transferred yesterday… and here it is today!
