If you can’t make it either day, but really want to be in the video, just let them know and they will figure something out!
“Sitting Alone At The Movies,” one of our very favorite K songs of the year. Sing it, Calvin!
(Listen to ALL of Hewn From The Wilderness here, and cheer yourself right up.)
UPDATE: We sold out of the I Kitty Olympia t-shirts earlier today, but Calvin is making more right now, and they are back in the shop! Now is your chance to pick one up, if you missed out earlier today! Woohoo!
Dub Narcotic Sound System fan art all the way from France. The artist Vincent Vanoli, an independent French cartoonist, and this is part of a fanzine celebrating 20 years of punk gigs by Hiero. Thank you for sending this to us!
The limited edition I (kitty) Olympia tees are going up in the shop today at 3 pm PST!
There are less than a dozen in each size of Calvin’s hand drawn shirts (identical to the one he’s wearing in this photo of Beat Happening from 1987), and SO MANY people have written to us about them we thought it fair to give you notice.
Hope you get one!
Calvin Johnson made an appearance on London Fuse TV last June to promote his new album Hewn From The Wilderness (have you heard it yet? Because you can totally stream the whole thing for free in the K shop!)
A charming fifteen minutes of footage with the most intriguing man you’ll ever meet.
MEET ERIC! OUR NEW MAIL MAVEN.
Eric Williger, former intern turned staffer, has the best playlist. It starts with Beat Happening and ends with The Hive Dwellers, or starts with Calvin and ends with Calvin. And what better way to meet Eric than through his favorite music? Stream his playlist in its entirety (and discover joy) for FREE in the shop…and buy songs if you love them. Welcome to the gang Eric!
Is it silly that almost every song on this Hive Dwellers album calls to mind the smell of fresh cut pine for me?
Oh, Calvin. (Oh, yes, and did you know that you can stream ALL of this album, plus all of Calvin’s other albums, plus everything else in the K shop for FREE now? Its true. You’re welcome.)
