Lovers of the 7” 45rpm format, delight: today is the release date for three new K 7”s today, including the Pine Hill Haints’ “Tales of Crime” (IPU138), White Rainbow’s “The Making of Thriller” (DBN125), and the Hive Dwellers ”Lynch the Swan” (DBN126).
To celebrate, here’s the Haints with “Tales of Crime (Part 2)”.
The Pine Hill Haints are known ‘round these parts as one of the hardest working bands in the biz, and you know the lore goes: “practice makes perfect” and all that. But we’re serious - they just keep on truckin’, putting out great release after great release after great release, and blowing away audiences across the country. The PHH powerhouse cannot be stopped.
Anyhoo, the Haints are about to see the release of a new volume in the International Pop Underground series of 7” 45s, this one entitled “Tales of Crime”. The tracks are both named “Tales of Crime” but in different acts. Here’s the first part!
If you haven’t heard the news, the Pine Hill Haints will be releasing Welcome to the Midnight Opry (KLP236) Tuesday, October 4! Boy is this record a doozy - it’s their third full-length on K, and the Haints have never sounded better (and if you’ve been privileged to hear the Ghost Dance and/or To Win or To Lose, then you know we’re really saying something).
If your appetite needs whetting, here’s “Moon Shadow,” warm-hearted and lovelorn.
