NOTES FROM THE K OFFICE
Eeeew!  K staffers Joel and Ben sampled the Seattle Gum Wall (that’s right.  All of that is gum. Years upon years of gum.  Such a beautiful sight, all that gum) at the market when we went up to see Mirah & Thao a couple months back.  Totally a sticky love-for-all.

Saturday Looks Good to Me - “(Even If You Die On The) Ocean”

From KLP182, Fill Up The Room

Sarah’s K song of the day.  Love on.

We go bowling with Jeremy Jay in this series of photos from the weblog (Calvin prefers the traditional use of the word web-log for our site.  I’m not just nerding out)

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!
Valentines Day is a day for glitter, for glue sticks, and for celebrating the rosier side of the rainbow. There are so many couples celebrating their love with open, full hearts today in Washington that the sun is out and shining bright.  And Sarah Cass made this Valentine (out of digital glitter) just for you.

Our K hero-naut Joel get’s down at the bowling alley!  Yes, its true, we K people are totally in-the-know with the modern dance grooves.

The picture on the left is the flyer made for the Maxines release show that’s happening tomorrow here in Olympia at the Midnight Sun, made by our own Sarah Cass.  On the right is a picture of what someone did to one of the flyers downtown: They took the picture of Kelly’s face and put it on a flyer for Dr. Horrible.  How lovely.

LOOK // Danielle Ruse and Sarah Cass go for a walk in the snow outside of the K office, Wednesday, January 17th.

Beautiful original score by Ashley Erikkson (of LAKE), “Conch,” previously unreleased.

AH!  Ruby Fray vinyl in the mail today!  And with it comes the snow!
Calvin Johnson and K promo specialist Danielle Ruse, in front of the K office this very afternoon.  I know, Calvin’s pants are wicked, and trust me, the new Ruby Fray is too.  Want a little sneak-peak? Check out Emily’s soundcloud…http://soundcloud.com/rubyfray. I’m gonna listen to this record and drink hot chocolate all week long! Yay snow in Olympia! Photo courtesy of our dear Sarah Cass.
(POST SCRIPT: Can you find our mail wizard Joel Brazzel in the background?  Just a hint: he’s in the window)

This is Emily Beanblossom. She plays in the band Christmas, but is coming out with a new LP on K this spring under the name Ruby Fray.  The new record is called Pith, was recorded at Dub Narcotic Studio, and sounds fantastic.

This is a photo from our Christmas party that we had a few weeks ago.  Chain & The Gang was in the studio at the time, and we all had a ton of fun.  Notice that everyone  is wearing seasonally appropriate K mittens and scarves!

This amazing video will make you want to work out—-an hour long set with Dub Narcotic Sound System live!  This was shot by our very own Sarah Cass in her hometown of Grand Junction, CO at a house show back in 2001, just a teenage fan way back when.
