This week Shaggy Sample are touring through the Northwest, including a show in Olympia on Sunday, August 24. Their new album My other Car Is can be obtained from their snazzy site on the world-wide web.

Shaggy Sample is the Oakland, CA combo that claimed Evan Hashi (on the far left in above photog) after he left the Hive Dwellers and headed to the San Francisco Bay area early last year. Evan is the drummer on the latest Hive Dwellers album Moanin’ [KLP249]; see below LP cover:

The Math and Physics Club played the downtown Olympia branch of the Timberland Regional Library June 7 and invited Calvin Johnson to join them. In the above photog Calvin and the members of the Math and Physics Club show off their library cards for the paparazzi (note MAPC Charles is sporting the stylish I Cat Olympia garment). See more photogs from the event HERE.

The Panduhs are venturing north from their Patterson, Calif. home to explore the Pacific Northwest and the Hive Dwellers and Shivas will be joining them for three shows. If you are not familiar with the Panduhs, they have been rockin’ the Modesto area for the last couple summers. Check this out -

The Shivas are hot on the heels of their new volume in our International Pop Underground series, “You Make Me Wanna Die” [IPU143]. Here they are singing it at a KEXP event last autumn:

Of course the Hive Dwellers you know from their cadaverous new album Moanin’ [KLKP249], available now from the K Mail Order Dept.

They’ll be playing some jams and selling some merch, like these hip Chain & The Gang Tees (seen above), “pre-worn” by the band; “Down With Liberty, Up With Chains!” [KLP203].

THE HIVE DWELLERS was far from disappointing at the Unknown Festival

Oh do we agree.

Our friends up in Anacortes are putting on their 3rd Unknown Music Series  July 19th - 21st!! It’s a weekend of all things art, movies, music, word with DINNER INCLUDED, but most importantly a gathering of amazing inspirational people. (That you could happen to sit next to during an included dinner…bonus.)

On the bill this year are some our loves at K like LAKEAshley Eriksson, Karl Blau, Phil Elvrum of Mt. Eerie, The Hive Dwellers, and some people we live next to.

Get distracted by various things on their tumblr
